Policies for In-Person Worship - in effect September 1, 2020
The Lead Team has been working for weeks on a safe re-opening plan. We will return to In-Person Worship on September 6. Here are the simple rules that we will need to follow!
NOTE: The Coronavirus has caused all of us inconvenience. The following policies were developed to keep our community of faith safe. You may find that your “favorite” pew is not available under the social distancing protocols. Please help us protect you and others by complying. All persons entering the church must comply with the policies in effect at the time they enter the building. Thank you.
5 Simple Social Rules
1. Social distancing and the wearing of face mask must be practiced when entering the church building as per the CDC and State Guidelines. Face masks will be available for persons who do not have one. Wearing a mask to protect others is an act of Christian Love.
2. Persons with a fever or other symptoms should not enter the church building.
3. Do not violate the 6-foot rule, and do not shake hands, bump fists or elbow, or hug.
4. Only sit with people with whom you arrive.
5. Singing is not permitted until we move to the final phase of “Normal” as declared by state and local authorities because it requires deep breathing. The CDC and State Health Officials share that talking and singing are the two greatest spreaders of the virus.
Operating Standards
· A receptacle will be available to deposit offering as you enter or leave.
· During the Green Phase, communion will be served using prepackaged communion cups which persons will pick up at the time of communion.
· The rooms used will be sanitized prior to Sunday and Fellowship Hall on Wednesday after AA meets. Chairs and tables in Fellowship Hall are currently stored. If you use a table or chairs, please leave them in place so that they can be sanitized before they are used again. This keeps sanitizing to a minimum.
· Please bring your own Bible as Bibles and hymnals will be removed from the pews.
· Worship will be accessible in person, online, and in your vehicle from the parking lot.
· Hand sanitizing stations will be available for use for personal sanitizing.
· Pews that are available for use will be identified. Please assist us in protecting others -- your normal pew might not be available.
· While in the sanctuary, we will use fans, and open doors and windows to facilitate the exchange of air, please do not close the windows or doors.
· After the service, attendees will be dismissed by pews to maintain social distancing.
· Individual members of outside groups will be required to sign a waiver of liability to use the church building.
These standards and rules are subject to review and change as appropriate.
